After defeating Ghana by a lone goal at the Moroni Stadium, Comoros leads Group I with six points after two games.
They won by 4-2 against the Central African Republic and 1-0 against the Black Stars of Ghana. Both games were played in Comoros at the Moroni Stadium. Comoros failed to qualify for the 2024 African Cup Of Nations which is scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast.
Aside from being the Nation with the most points in the Group, Comoros is also the most prolific country in Group I. They have scored five goals in two games.
Second in the Group is Mali with four points, They won against Chad who are without a point in the group in round one, and were held to a 1-1 with the Central African Republic in Mali.
The Black Stars of Ghana are fourth on the log with three points and tied with Madagascar but behind on goals difference. Ghana won at home against the Barea of Madagascar and lost by a lone goal away to Comoros while Madagascar lost to Ghana in Kumasi and won against Chad at the Municipal Stadium of Oujda in Morocco.
The third round of matches will take place next year in June after the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Comoros will face Madagascar in their match while Mali and Ghana will square it off in Bamako. Chad will also lock horns with Central African Republic in the third round of matches.
Ghana and Mali are the only teams in the group who will be participating in the African Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
