Arsenal and Chelsea are both interested in Karim Benzema since planning to leave the middle east side Al-Ittihad

After 14 memorable years at Real Madrid, Karim Benzema joined Al–Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League under a contract that was supposed to be valid until 2025 with an option of another year which is 2026.

Karim Benzema left the Spanish giants in the summer of 2023 after 14 years in Real Madrid. In 648 games played, the French forward scored 354 goals for Real Madrid.

Per multiple reports, Karim Benzema has decided to leave Al-Ittihad after things did not go as well as they planned.

The former Ballon d’Or winner has started planning his next move after Al-Ittihad and English Premier League sides Chelsea Football Club and Arsenal Football Club have shown keen interest in the former Real Madrid star. Although Al-Ittihad is not willing to let Karim Benzema leave, the 36-year-old Algerian-born striker wants to leave this January either on a permanent or loan deal.

Karim Benzema still has two years to serve at Al-Ittihad. It has appeared that Karim Benzema and the Al-Ittihad affair did not go as well as planned. Al-Ittihad won the Saudi Pro League last season and were expected to give a top chase with Al Nassr and Al-Hilal for their title defense.

This season, Al-Ittihad is seventh in the Saudi Pro League and 25 points difference behind Al-Hilal who are on top of the League. Despite scoring 15 goals in 24 outings for Al-Ittihad, Karim Benzema is been criticized by the Saudi media and just recently, He was left out of Al-Ittihad squad.
