CONFIRMED: Jeremie Frimpong extends for Bayern Leverkusen until 2028

Ghanaian – Dutch-born defender Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong has extended his contract for the German Bundesliga outfit, Bayern 04 Leverkusen for another 3 years.

The 22-year-old pacy right-back joined Bayern Leverkusen in January 2021 from Scottish giants Celtic on a 4-year deal. The Manchester City graduate extended for the German side despite having two years contract left in his initial contract.

Jemerie has been impressive since joining the club in January 2021, He has made seventy-five appearances and scored ten goals as a defender. Jemerie Frimpong’s impressive performance earned him a place in the Bundesliga team of the 2022/23 season.

After extending his contract, Simon Rolfes, the sporting director of the club said:

” At the moment, he ( Jeremie) is one of the best players in the Bundesliga in his position as an attacking right. The contract extension underlines Jeremie’s importance to our Werkself”

The pacy right is eligible to play for Ghana, the Netherlands, and the England national team.

Next for Frimpong and Leverkusen is in the UEFA Europa League against Norwegian side Molde at the Aker Stadion on Thursday October 5,2023

Jemerie Frimpong won the Scottish League, Scottish Cup, and the Scottish League Cup with Celtic before joining Bayern Leverkusen.
