The continental Club Masters, Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club are looking forward to strengthening their squad for the remaining matches in the first round and the second round of the Ghana Premier League in the second transfer window which opened on Monday, December 18, 2023.
Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club are yet to find their rhythm in the ongoing Ghana Premier League and it resulted in the sacking of the Dutch gaffer Martin Koopman. Hearts of Oak Sporting Club were also eliminated from the MTN FA Cup by division two side Nania Football Club in round 64 on penalty shootouts.

The goalkeeping and attacking department of Hearts of Oak Sporting Club have been the main problems of the team since the start of the 2023/24 season. In their attack, the Phobians will be offloading two players namely Kojo Obeng Jr and the Cameroonian Albert Diego Eonde.
Kojo Obeng Jr has been struggling for playing time due to injuries. Obeng Jr was the club’s top scorer during the 2020/21 season when they won both the Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup under Coach Samuel Boadu with 15 goals in all competitions. He has also featured in only three games for Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club after fifteen matches played in the league.
Albert Eonde, he is yet to impress since joining the club from Cameroon in the second round of the 2022/23 season. The 26-year-old striker is yet to score for the Phobians this season in the nine games he has featured for the club.
Surprisingly, youngster Raphael Amponsah has appeared on the list and is likely to leave Hearts of Oak on loan for playing time. Raphael Amponsah has scored one goal in three matches for Hearts of Oak. His goal was the winner against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 86th minute of the game in the Ghana Premier League.
Moreover, Eric Esso is also expected to leave Hearts of Oak this second transfer window. Esso has not been impressive this season. The former Ashantigold midfielder was dropped to the bench after starting in the opening three matches in which he failed to impress.
Accra Hearts of Oak has already completed the signing of Ivorian forward Kasim Cisse and Issah Kuka will be joining Hearts of Oak in the second round. In addition, Salim Adams’s loan spell with FC Cincinnati in the Major League Soccer has ended, and will be registered in the second round.
Hearts of Oak has accumulated seventeen points after fifteen matches, they have won three games, drew eight, and lost four games. Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has scored twelve goals and conceded twelve in the fifteen matches.
Following the 1-1 draw with Nations Football Club, Hearts of Oak will lock horns with city rivals Great Olympics on Friday December 22, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
