EXCLUSIVE: Hearts of Oak completes two signings ahead of the Mantse Derby.

The 21-time Ghanaian Champions Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has completed two signings ahead of their week 16 fixture of the Ghana Premier League against their city rivals, Accra Great Olympic Football Club.

Hearts of Oak has been suffering from goalkeeping errors since the start of the season. Also, one of their three goalkeepers is injured and is yet to make an appearance for Accra Hearts of Oak.

Becks Media Online can confirm that Hearts of Oak has completed the signing of former West African Football Academy and Berekum Chelsea Football Club shot-stopper Kwadwo Osei Bonsu. The 23-year-old goalkeeper completed his medical examination yesterday ahead of the deal. Kwadwo Osei Bonsu signed for three and half years with Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting.

The Former West African Football Academy goalie has been training with the team since the start of the week together with other goalkeepers like former teammate Sabi Acquah Ferdinand and Kwame Baah formerly of Asante Kotoko. Kwadwo Osei Bonsu conceded 42 goals in 36 matches for West African Football Academy and kept 11 clean sheets in the 2021/22 season when they were relegated.

Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has also captured the signature of Ivorian young forward Kassim Cisse on a two-deal after a successful medical examination. Kassim Cisse has been in Ghana since September 7, 2023. The twenty-five-year-old forward was the top scorer in the Ivorian Division One League last season for Lanfiara Sport Attecoube.

The arrival of the Ivorian Kassim Cisse will help improve the attacking force of Hearts of Oak who are rebuilding their attack. Hearts of Oak will be parting ways with Albert Eonde and their longest-serving player, Kojo Obeng Jr in the second training window.

Moreover, Issah Kuku who is currently in Ghana after his loan spell with the North Macedonian side Football Club Shkupin where he scored two goals and provided two assists in ten games. More signings will be made by Hearts of Oak in the second window

Despite the acquisition of Kwadwo Osei Bonsu, Hearts of Oak Sporting Club is likely to add another goalkeeper to strengthen their goalkeeping department and offload Richard Attah.

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club is currently twelfth on the league log with seventeen points after fifteen matches played in the Ghana Premier League. They have scored twelve goals and conceded twelve in the fifteen games. Surprisingly, they were eliminated from the MTN FA Cup in Round 64 on penalty shootouts by Division Two side Nania Football Club at the Phobiman Sports Complex.

Kwadwo Osei Bonsu and Kassim Cisse have been registered and will be available for selection against Accra Great Olympics Football Club on Friday.

The Manste Derby will be played on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi due to the unavailability of the Accra Sports Stadium. The match will kick off at 18:00GMT and will also be telecasted live on StarTimes channel 247. The Manste Derby will be officiated by Referee Selorm Yao Bless who will be assisted by referee Paul Atimaka and referee Courage Kuedufia.
