EXCLUSIVE: Hearts of Oak to register Gladson Awako, Salim Adams, and two other players for the second round.

The continental Club Masters, Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club are looking forward to strengthening their squad for the remaining matches in the first round and the second round of the Ghana Premier League in the second transfer window which opened on Monday, December 18, 2023.

Hearts of Oak has been struggling to win matches since the start of the season and were shamefully eliminated in the MTN FA Cup Round sixty-four by Division Two side Nania Football Club on penalty shootouts. Their poor performances led to the sacking of Martin Koopman who was appointed before the start of the season.

As they prepare to appoint a new head coach to replace the sacked Dutch manager Martin Koopman, the management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting looks to register four key players for the remaining matches of the first round and the second round matches.

Former CAF Champions League winner, Gladson Awako who was not registered at the start of the season will be registered before the close of the transfer window, Becks Media Online can confirm that. The former TP Mazembe midfielder was not registered due to an injury he picked at the African Nations Champions 2023 in Algeria with the Black Galaxies of Ghana. Per the information reaching Becks Media Online, Gladson Awako is fully fit and will join the Phobian for the remainder of the season.

However, as Hearts of Oak SC looks to offload Kojo Obeng Jr and Albert Eonde, Auroras graduate Issah Kuka has ended his loan spell with North Macedonia side Football Club Shkupin, the twenty-one-year-old will also be registered for the second round and will be competing with Hamza Issah and Kashal Ramos Wanet. Issah Kuka scored two goals and provided two assists in ten games for Football Club Shkupi in the Prva Liga. He was also shown four yellow cards in those ten games.

With the injury of David Oppong Afrane, Hearts of Oak Sporting Club will re -signing former defender Robert Addo Sowah till the end of the season. Addo Sowah left Hearts of Oak after the 2022/23 season when both sides failed to reach an agreement for a contract extension. Addo Sowah in his three years at Hearts of Oak played eighty-five matches and scored just a goal for the Phobians. Robert Addo Sowah also won the Ghana Premier League, MTN FA Cup twice, Super Cup, and the President Cup twice for Hearts of Oak. Sowah will be available for selection on Friday against Accra Great Olympics.

Young Midfielder Salim Adams, whose loan spell with FC Cincinnati 2 has ended will also return and will be registered for the subsequent matches of Accra Hearts of Oak.  The twenty-one-year-old has scored one goal and provided an assist in twenty-three games for FC Cincinnati 2 in the Major League Soccer Next Pro. Salim Adams joined Hearts of Oak from New Edubiase Football Club before moving to the United States of America in the 2021/22 season.
