EXCLUSIVES: Medeama SC joins the race for former Asante Kotoko striker and one other, Dreams FC plots a move for Amankona, and other GPL Transfer news.

Ghana’s representatives in the CAF interclub competitions, Medeama Sporting Club and Dreams Football who are competing in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively have been busy since the opening of the second transfer window.

Medeama Sporting Club has already completed two signings in this second window which are former Bibiani Goldstars Sporting Club midfielder Michael Enu who signed a three-year deal and left-back Sulemana Fatawu all on a free transfer. However, Medeama Sporting Club has parted ways with defender Richard Akrofi who joined from Nsoatreman Football Club ahead of the 2023/24 season, and midfielder Agyei Boakye.

Per the information reaching Becks Media Online, Medeama Sporting Club has entered the race for the services of former Asante Kotoko Sporting Club forward Abdul Fatawu Salifu despite rumors linking him to his former club Asante Kotoko Sporting Club in their quest to strengthen their attacking force for the remaining matches in the CAF Champions League and defending the Ghana Premier League title. Abdul Fatawu Safiu, who also played for Techiman Eleven Wonders in the Ghana Premier League is currently a free agent. Moreover, Medeama Sporting Club has joined Bibiani Goldstars Sporting Club for the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League top scorer Diawusie Taylor. He was the top scorer in Ghana with Karela United Football Club before moving to Future Stars in Egypt. He is also currently out of contract and is a free agent.

Medeama Sporting Club has also enquired about Berekum Chelsea Football Club defender Zakaria Fuseini on a possible loan move till the end of the season due to the unavailability of Nurudeen Abdulai who is injured. Talks are in the initial stages.

The record winners of the Ghana Premier League Asante Kotoko Sporting Club (26) have officially written to Nsoatreman Football Club for the signature of their right-back Emmanuel Nii Kotei who joined them ahead of the 2022/23 season from Tamale City. Nsoatreman Football Club is yet to reach any agreement with Asante Kotoko Sporting Club for Emmanuel Kotei. The young enterprising right-back played sixteen games and provided three assists as a defender for Nsoatreman Football Club in the first round of the Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season.

Dreams Football Club is also in talks with Berekum Chelsea Football Club for the services of their winger Stephen Amankona who has been lethal since returning to Berekum Chelsea Football Club from Asante Kotoko Sporting on a loan deal till the end of the season. Amankona has scored four goals in the Ghana Premier League so far after seventeen matches in the first round.

In other news, Karela United Football Club has completed the signing of former Bofoakwa Tano Football Club and Aduana Football Club striker Welbeck Takyi for the next two season. Ferdinand Sabi Acquah is also ecpected to sign for Hearts of Oak Sporting Club before the close of the second transfer window. The former West Africa Football Academy and Kotoku Royals Football Club shot stopper has been training with Hearts of Oak Sporting Club in the past two weeks.
