EXCLUSIVES: Transfer news from the camp of Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC, and others.

Ghana Premier League clubs have been busy in the second transfer window which was opened on Monday, December 18, 2023, for buying, selling, and registration of players.

Defending Champions Medeama Sporting Club has already completed the signing of former Ashgold SC, Liberty Professional, and Bibiani Goldstar midfielder Michael Enu on a free transfer. However, Medeama Sporting Club has appointed Bosnian gaffer Nebojsa Kapor as head coach while Augustine Evans Adotey returns to the technical director role after winning the Ghana Premier League and qualifying the team to the group stages of the CAF Champions League in their maiden campaign.

Medeama Sporting Club is currently in talks to sign their former left-back Sulemana Fatawu who was transferred to Al Merrik of Sudan last season from Medeama Sporting Club. He is currently training with the team despite rumors linking him to Asante Kotoko Sporting. Sulemana Fatawu is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with Medeama Sporting Club. All terms are agreed.

Tanzanian giants, Young Africans Sporting Club has joined the race for Bechem United Football Club forward Augustine Okrah. Okrah is currently joint top scorer with Isaac Mintah of Aduana Football Club in the Ghana Premier League with nine goals after sixteen games played in the league. Augustine Okrah joined Bechem United Football Club ahead of the Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season after contract termination with Simba Sporting Club of Tanzania due to lack of playing time.

Karela United has also hijacked the return of striker Takyi Welbeck to Bofoakwa Tano Football Club. Takyi Welbeck started training with his former club after making a return from a long injury. Karela United, which is currently in Tamale has officially contacted the player for his service despite being at training with Bofoakwa Tano Football Club for the past two weeks. Takyi Welbeck is expected to sign the deal before the close of the week.

Moreover, Karela United Football Club has also joined the race for their former striker Diwiase Taylor who is currently a free agent. There is a straight fight between Bibiani Goldstars Sporting Club, Karela United Football Club, and Medeama Sporting Club for the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League top scorer. However, Karela United has offloaded twelve players in the second transfer window and is on the market in search of their replacements.

In other news, Becks Media Online can exclusively confirm that Hearts of Oak will register both Issah Kuka and Salim Adams whose loan spells with FK Shkupin in North Macedonia and FC Cincinnati in the United States of America respectively in this second transfer window. Former defender Robert Addo Sowah is also likely to be registered and replace injured David Oppong Afrane.

“Free agent” Abdul Fatawu Safiu is on the verge of sealing a return to Asante Kotoko Sporting Club in this second window. Fatawu Safiu is currently in Ghana but there is no agreement reached. Also, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is reportedly in negotiations with former left-back Imoro Ibrahim for a possible return after contract termination with Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan.

The first round of the Ghana Premier League will end this weekend at the various league centers before the end of the year.
