Ghanaian Players Abroad: Jordan Ayew, Anim Cudjoe, Kingsford Boafo, and others shine last weekend.

Some Ghanaian players were in action and made an impact for the clubs as some of the major leagues in Europe starts.

Also, others provided assistance for the respective clubs whiles others featured to help their teams secure points. Kudus Mohammed and Anim Cudjoe were all on the scoresheet for their teams.

In the English Premier League, Thomas Partey was impressive for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium where they won by 2-1 over Nottingham Forest on opening day. Thomas Partey lasted the entire duration for the gunners. At Bramall Lane, Jordan Ayew and Crystal Palace secured a 1-0 away win over Sheffield United courtesy Odsonne Eduardo’s lone goal. Jordan Ayew lasted 90 minutes on the field and provided the assist to Eduardo for the only goal in the match.

Elsewhere in the Netherlands, Kudus Mohammed continued from where he left off last season with a neatly converted goal for Ajax against Heracles in the Dutch Eredivisie. Kudus scored in the 75th minute to make it 2-1 for Ajax and also won a penalty for the side. Ajax went on to win the game by four goals to one.

Ghana attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh last eighty minutes for FC Zurich in their 3-0 away win over FC Stade Lausanne – Ouchy in the Swiss Super League to extend their unbeaten run to three matches.

In the Scottish Championship, Ghanaian youngster Mathew Anim Cudjoe scored a late goal to secure a point for Dundee United against Dunfermline Athletic. Anim Cudjoe went on to pick the MOTM award. He has now scored two goals and provided an assist in 2 games for the Scottish side.

West African Football Academy graduate Forson Amankwaah scored a debut league goal for RB Salzburg against FK Austria in the Austrian Bundesliga. RB Salzburg won by 2-0.  Henry Addo was also on the scoresheet for MSK Zilina in their 5-2 win over AS Trencin in the Slovakian Super Liga. Addo also provided an assist for the Slovakian giant.

In Lithuania, former Bibiani Goldstars and Star Madrid midfielder was impressive for FK Sveikata in their 3-0 home win over Zalgiris FC in the Lithuanian II LYGA. Kingsford assisted the first goal of the game and also lasted the entire duration of the game.

Defender Alidu Seidu registered an assist in Clermont Foot 4-2 home defeat to AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1. Seidu was named in the back three of Clermont Foot in the Ligue 1 opener.

Antoine Semenyo made an injury return to make a cameo appearance in AFC Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United in the English Premier League. Alexander Djiku also featured for Fenerbahçe in their opening-day win over Gaziantep on this league debut in the Turkish Super Lig.
