Some Ghanaian players who play outside the country were in superb form for their respective sides over the weekend in their various league and cup matches.
Players like Osman Bukari, Ernest Nuamah, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, and Mathew Cudjoe had a goal for their clubs. On the other hand, Thomas Partey and Arsenal emerged victorious over Manchester City to clinch their first title of the season.
Let’s start from England where midfielder Thomas Partey lasted the entire duration for Arsenal in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City. Arsenal won the game on penalty shootouts in the Community Shield finals. Partey was booked in the 8th minute for holding back Julian Alvarez who was on a break.
In Serbia, Osman Bukari inspired FK Crvena Zvezda to a 4-0 win over Napredak Matici in the Serbia Super Liga. Bukari scored and provided an assist in 90 minutes for the Serbian giants. FK Crvena Zvezda is currently on top of the log after two games. The goal was Osman’s second goal in two games of the season, he was rated 9.5.
Elsewhere in the Swiss Super League, Former Hearts Of Oak and Black Meteors captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored twice for FC Zurich in their 3-0 win over Lugano. The win moved the team to the top of the league table after 3 games played. In addition, Barnieh won the MOTM award and was rated 8.9.
Young Sensation Ernest Nuamah set up for FC Nordjaelland from a 1-1 draw position to a 3-1 win after a direct free kick goal and an assist at Brondby in the Danish League. Nuamah recently earned a debut Black Stars call-up and featured in the game against Madagascar. Osman Ibrahim also had a splendid performance for FC Nordjaelland.
In the Scottish Championship, former Asante Kotoko wonder kid Mathew Anim Cudjoe played 77 minutes for Dundee United in their 4-0 win over Arbroath. Anim Cudjoe scored a sublimed goal for his side and provided an assist for the tangarines in their league opener.
Finally in Romania, Ghanaian youth star Emmanuel Yeboah featured for CFR Cluj in their 1-0 away loss to FC FCSB. Yeboah lasted the entire duration for his side.
