GPL TRANSFERS: Hearts of Oak offload seven players ahead of the second round, Samartex writes to Hearts of Oak for Gideon Asante and rejects bid for Emmanuel Keyekeh – Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has been highly involved in the second transfer window due to the team’s poor performance in the first round of the Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season. Hearts of Oak is tenth on the league log after the first round and could drop further after all the outstanding matches are been cleared.

Some players of Hearts of Oak Sporting Club underperformed in the first round and the technical and management team of the club has offloaded seven players from the squad ahead of the second round. One of the positions that caused Hearts of Oak Sporting Club to lose some points in the first round was their goalkeeping department. However, Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has signed three goalkeepers in this second transfer window.

Former West Africa Football Academy and Berekum Chelsea Football Club goalkeeper Kwadwo Osei Bonsu joined Hearts of Oak Sporting Club on a three-and-a-half-year deal on a free transfer after two weeks of training with the team. In addition, Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has signed former Inter Allies Football Club goalie Sharif Schwaib and Susubiribi Sporting Club captain Kwesi Nketia on a permanent deal.

Also, Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has signed Ivorian striker Kassim Cisse from the Amed Toure Management Agency and he featured in the last two games for Hearts of Oak Sporting Club in the first round against Accra Great Olympics Football Club and Bechem United Football Club respectively.

However, Becks Media Online can confirm that Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has withdrawn seven players from the team ahead of the second season. Initially, Hearts of Oak Sporting Club decided to offload Eric Esso but the decision is been under reconsideration due to the contract of Congolese midfielder Glid Otanga who has just two months left in his contract with Hearts of Oak Sporting Club. Also, FC Samartex 1996 has rejected Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s bid for Emmanuel Keyekeh formerly of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club. FC Samartex has also shown keen interest in Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s Gideon Asante Yeboah who has been struggling for playing time this season.

The current longest-serving player of Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Kwadwo Obeng Jr has officially been made aware that his services not be needed by the team for the second round and the player and his management are expected to meet the Hearts of Oak Sporting Club management for contract termination mutually.

Assistant Captain Richmond Ayi has also been withdrawn from the squad for the second round and city rivals Accra Great Olympics Football Club has approached the West Africa Football Academy graduate shot-stopper.

Also, Cameroonian forward Albert Diego Eonde is withdrawn from the Hearts of Oak Sporting Club team for the second round as the team has acquired the ITC of striker Issah Kukah who went on loan in North Macedonia with Football Club Shkupin in the first round and has returned after loan spell.

Salim Adams, Michelle Sarpong, and Eric Ofori Antwi who is currently nursing injury are all withdraw from the Heart of Oak team for the second round
