The second transfer window of the Ghana Premier League opened on Monday, December 18, 2023, and clubs in the Ghana Premier League are already making signings to strengthen their team for the remaining matches in the first round and the second round.
One of the teams that has been struggling in the league so far is Bibiani Goldstars. Their bad spell of matches in the league resulted in the sacking of Coach Michael Osei who has been with the team since the 2020/21 season when they gained their maiden promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
Bibiani Goldstars appointed former Asante Kotoko and Bofoakwa Tano head coach Frimpong Manso who was sacked by “Struggling” Bofoakwa Tano after a draw with Nsoatreman FC at the Sunyani Coronation Park. The Miners have already completed the signing of Ghana Premier League player of the Season 2022/23 Vincent Atingah on a free transfer. The veteran defender left Medeama Sporting Club after both parties failed to reach an agreement for a contract extension.
Bibiani Goldstars are also on the verge of completing the signing of their former striker Abednego Tetteh for the second round. The former Bechem United and Hearts of Oak striker won the goal king race last year for Bibiani Goldstars with eighteen goals in twenty-nine matches before moving to FC Hoyvik in the Faroe Islands. Former Karela United Striker Diawiase Taylor is also likely to join Bibiani Goldstars.
Accra Hearts of Oak has also completed two signings in this second transfer window. They signed Ivorian forward Kassim Cisse on a two-year deal and former West African Football Academy shot-stopper Kwadwo Osei Bonsu also on a three-and-a-half-year deal. Moreover, Hearts of Oak will register Issah Kuka whose loan spell with FK Shkupin in North Macedonia and has returned to his parent club. Also, Salim Adams will join the Continental Club Masters after his loan spell with Major League Soccer Next Pro side FC Cincinnati ended.
Accra Hearts of Oak will also consider the return of Robert Addo Sowah to replace the injured David Oppong Afrane for the second round. Experienced Gladson Awako will be registered for the second round after recovering from the injury he picked up at the CHAN tournament in Algeria with the Black Galaxies of Ghana.
Moreover, Becks Media Online can confirm that Hearts of Oak will be parting ways with Albert Eonde, Kojo Obeng Jr, Eric Esso, and Raphael Amponsah who will be leaving on loan.
Defending Champions Medeama Sporting Club has also completed the signing of former Ashgold and Bibiani Goldstars midfielder Michael Enu on a three-year deal. The lanky midfielder joined the Yellow and Mauves on a free transfer after contract expiry with Bibiani Goldstars.
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has also set sights on Nsoatreman FC right-back Emmanuel Kotei. The Porcupine Warriors are yet to submit an official deal to Nsoatreman but reports we are gathering indicate that Nsoatreman FC is not willing to transfer Emmanuel Kotei.
Asante Kotoko is also in advance talks to bring back former striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu who is currently a free agent. Fatawu Safiu is in Ghana and will be joining Asante Kotoko before the end of the second transfer window.
