Asante Kotoko has been handed a major boost ahead of the Betpawa Premier League week 3 fixture against Karela United this weekend in Kumasi with the return of vice-captain Richmond Lamptey and workaholic Justice Blay.
Both players had made a return to full training after nursing minor injuries. Richmond Lamptey, who was named the vice-captain of the club ahead of the season picked up an injury at the Black Galaxies camp for screening by Coach Didi Dramani.
For Justice Blay, he picked a minor knock during the team’s preseason in Beposo ahead of the season. Both players missed the first two games of the Porcupine Warriors which was against newly promoted Kpando Heart of Lions and Bibiani Goldstars respectively.
Asante Kotoko has accumulated just a point out of six in those two games. They drew with Kpando’s Heart of lions on day one and lost away to Goldstars in week two.
Moreover, forward Julius Ziggy and Rashid Nortey are still on the club’s injury list.
Next for Asante Kotoko in the league is against Karela United this weekend at the Baba Yara sports stadium, Kumasi in the matchday 3 fixture. Richmond Lamptey and Justice Blay will be available for selection.
