Portuguese forward João Félix was impressive for FC Barcelona in their 5-0 home win over in-form Real Betis in the Spanish La Liga week five fixture.
Félix opened the scoring for the Catalan-based club in the twenty-fifth minute of the game to score his first goal for Barcelona since joining on loan from Athletico Madrid in the summer transfer window after darting into the box to latch onto a cross from Oriol Romeu. Seven minutes after the goal, he assisted the Polish forward, Robert Lewandoski to score his 3rd goal of the season for Barca.
The tally was further increased in the sixty-second minute after Ferran Torres struck a nice free kick to make it 3-0 for the home side. Two minutes after getting onto the field, Raphinha made it four for Barca and João Cancelo put the icing on the cake for Barcelona.
João Félix was named the official man of the match. In an interview with the press after the award, Félix expressed how easy it is to play for Barcelona because of the good structure of play and how the ball circulates for goals to come. The forward always disclosed how happy he is to be at Barca.
“It’s easy to play on this team. When you have a good structure, with all the players in their place and the ball circulates quickly, it’s easier for goals to arrive.
The change has been good for me and my family. I’m very happy here
The win moves Barcelona to the top of the log with 13pts and just a point ahead of rivals Real Madrid who has a game to play tomorrow against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu with kick-off at 19:00GMT.
