Last Saturday after Manchester United beat Brentford at home.

It was extremely exciting to see Manchester United coming off from a 0:1 game to end it in a 2:1 at home, Old Trafford. Late sub McTominay got the two(2) goals for United at 93′ and 97′ mines respectively. After the game he had this to say;

McTominay: “I been brought up at this club ever since I was 5 years old. I know the feeling of never being allowed to give up better than anyone.”McTominay. That was probably one of my favorite moments ever on a football pitch.”

McTominay: “When you are not doing well at this football club, everyone is against you. It feels like we are in our own bubble with the rest of the world saying negative things.”

Mctominay: “That might be one of my favourite moments on a football pitch. Two goals at the death was icnredible, but I am just happy to be able to contribute and show people that I can do it.”

Mctominay on the importance of the win today: “Massive. Everyone knows we are in a difficult period at the minute, but we have fighters in the group that want to keep going right until the end. It could have been anyone on that pitch scoring the two goals. Really pleased and hopefully we can build on that from here.”

Mctominay on the intructions when he came on: “It was very loud, the fans were roaring us on so I couldn’t hear fully. He probably said something like: “Go on and score,’ which is what I did.”

Mctominay on the first goal: “When the ball dropped to me it was at an awwkard height and I didn’t think I could get my leg there, control it and score.”

Mctominay “As I said we wanted to get into their box more as the game went on. But they are a really good team, defended well, and are dangerous on the counter attack. Eventually we got the goals.”

Mctominay on the second goal: “No nerves. Just never give up no matter the situation. At this football club it is demanded that you never throw the towel in, for me I have been brought up here since I was five, I know that better than anyone.”

Ten Hag: “I have to thank the fans. They were behind us all game.”

Ten Hag: “My best change at the helm of United? I don’t know. It’s not about me, it’s about the team’s performance. This game sums up our season. Everything is against us, but we have to create your own luck. That’s what we did today.”

Ten Hag: “McTominay? Fabulous. When you come in with the end of the game near and you bring that mindset, that energy and that confidence, he fought for every meter, for every ball, and he was rewarded.”

Ten Hag: “I’m really proud of the team.”

Ten Hag: “You felt the explosion. To describe this feeling…I can’t, but it’s a great feeling I can tell you that.”

Ten Hag: “There were a lot of positives, but when you concede a goal like that, you give the opponent confidence. Our mentality and especially our patience meant that we won.”

Ten Hag: “I know we have a lot of work to do, but we can enjoy this victory. We have a good team, we have great players.”

Ten Hag on McTominay: “He is Man United in his heart. He is playing for the badge and he gives his life.”

Ten Hag on taking off Casemiro for Eriksen at half-time: “I wanted more football..”

Ten Hag: “We are relieved. It showed the big character of this team and the resilience. You have to make your own luck and that is what we did. We kept patient, we kept carrying on, even after the disallowed goal. It was a knock, but this team can handle it. I’m really proud of this team.”

Ten Hag: “What I say to them is to keep going the whole game. We were losing, but the belief was always there. And also they were patient and calm. They kept switching the game and we created chances but the ball was not going in the net and that’s what football is about.”

Ten Hag: “The performance can always be better but it can’t happen that you give a goal away. I think there were some good spells in the game. I’m sure when I look back I will see some good spells.”

Ten Hag: “We created chances and controlled the game over long periods, but once again we give a goal away so easily and we can’t do that at our level. We have to do better, we have to take more responsibility, and we have to be accountable because otherwise it’s difficult to win games.”

Ten Hag: “We have to find a moment in the season we can build on, and I think we have found it now. We made our own luck and this has to be the turning point.”

The man of the Match Bruno Fernandes had something to spit: “This is Manchester United, Even if you win 10 games in a row and lose 1, it’s a crisis straight away. We are not having the results and points we want to have but it’s about getting the focus back after the international break.”
