Manchester City’s best and worst players in 0-0 draw with Arsenal

Manchester City’s hopes of winning a record fourth consecutive Premier League title were dealt a bit of a blow on Sunday.

Thanks to a combination of Liverpool’s win over Brighton and their own dour 0-0 draw with Arsenal, Pep Guardiola’s went three points adrift of the table-topping Reds this past weekend.

So where did it all go wrong on Sunday? Here’s Manchester City’s best and worst players in the draw with Arsenal, according to 90min’s esteemed player ratings.

Manchester City’s worst player vs Arsenal

Erling Haaland: 4/10

When you’re being described as a League Two-level player by a pundit (Roy Keane, obviously) after a big game, you know that you perhaps didn’t play particularly well.

And while we’re not going to go as far as to compare him to a League Two player, the truth is, Erling Haaland really, really, really struggled at the Etihad on Sunday.

The Norway striker was in search for his 30th strike of the season so far in the clash with Arsenal, but never once looked remotely capable of scoring that milestone goal. In fact, he rarely looked remotely capable of completing a pass never mind scoring a goal – completing just seven throughout the 90 minutes.

That was in large part due to the brilliance of Arsenal’s centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel, who were utterly dominant during the game, keeping Haaland at bay through tight marking and hard tackling.
