MATCH REPORT: Baba Yahaya scores late to secure a point for Asante Kotoko in Kumasi

Asante Kotoko and Karela United share spoils at the Baba Yara sports stadium in the week 3 fixture of the Betpawa Premier League.

Former Asante Kotoko forward Evans Adomako opened the scoring for Karela United after timing his run to pass Henry Ansu in the 8th minute of the game. Asante Kotoko took over the game after conceding in the early stages of the game but the defense of Karela United was calm and resolute to prevent the porcupine warriors from getting their equalizer.

Back from recess, Asante Kotoko continued to throw men forward in search of their equalizer.  Bernard Soumuah, Baba Yahaya, Richmond Lamptey, and Sheriff Mohammed came in to replace Isaac Oppong, Samuel Asamoah, Serge Eric Zeze, and Michael Kyei Dwamena to bring in more attacking bite to the team.

On the 90th minute mark, Baba Yahaya curled in a nice goal after been set up by teenage sensation Bernard Soumah who dazzled through the defense of Karela United to located the left nimble footed playmaker to get the equalizer for Asante Kotoko.

Following the draw, Asante Kotoko have acculumated two pionts from nine points. Next for Asante Kotoko is a visit to the capital where they will play quest to Accra Lions while Karela United will face Accra Great Olympics at the new adopted home grounds Aliu Mahama stadium in Tamale.
