MATCH REPORT: Emmanuel Keyekeh’s superb free kick hands FC Samartex win over Asante Kotoko – Betpawa Premier League.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh’s lone goal ensures FC Samartex 1996 defeat Asante Kotoko at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex in week 10 fixture of the Betpawa Premier League.

Asante Kotoko winless streak continues following their 1-0 loss. The Porcupine Warriors are now five matches without a win. They have loss two matches and drawn three in the last five matches.

FC Samartex after losing both home and away to Asante Kotoko we eager to pick all three points and started the game with an attacking mindset. The Timber Giants had the first shot on target through Baba Musah in the second minute of the game but Danlad Ibrahim was equal to it.

In the eighteenth minute, Danlad Ibrahim denied Baba Musah with a superb save after a thunderbolt strike from the FC Samartex forward.

FC Samartex broke the deadlock in the thirtieth minute with a super free kick goal from the experienced Emmanuel Keyekeh whose curler went beyond the reach of Danlad Ibrahim to make 1-0 for the home side.

FC Samartex continued dominating the first half of the game after scoring. They created some decent chances but failed to double their lead.

Back from recess, Asante Kotoko took control of the game and made some decent attack but the defense of FC Samartex were resolute not to concede.

The 71st minute, Baba Musah had the opportunity to double FC Samartex’s lead but couldn’t get the final touch on the ball after a delightful cross from Samuel Tetteh.

Following the win FC Samartex moves to the second position on the log while Asante Kotoko drops to the 15th position.
