Defending champions Medeama Sporting Club comes from a goal down to secure a 2-1 away win at the Nana Fosu Gyaebour Park over Bechem United to record their first win of the season.
After eliminating Guinean giants Horoya AC from the CAF Champions League to secure their first ever first group stage spot in their debut campaign, Medeama Sporting Club returned to Betpawa premier league action Bechem United in a week 4 fixture.
Bechem United, the home side started the game well, dominated, and detected the pace of the game with some goal-scoring chances but the defense of Medeama Sporting Club led by Kofi Asmah was resolute not to concede an early goal.
Cephas Mantey who was “UNSTOPPABLE” in the first half of the game broke the deadlock in the 27th minute to hand the home side a lead at halftime.
Medeama Sporting Club came into the game after conceding to take over the game. They created some decent chances and played some delightful football but couldn’t find their equalizer. Halftime ended 1-0 for the Hunters.
Back from recess, both sides continued serving their fans with some impressive displays in the highly rated game. The match was over of midfield battle and possession was even distributed.
Bechem United continued to hold the Yellow and Mauves until striker Jonathan Sowah stepped up with a goal to get the equalizer for the Tarkwa-based team in the 75th minute. Ten minutes after the goal, Ebenezer Nkrumah completed the comeback for the champions to stun the home fans at the Nana Fosu Gyaebour Park.
Following the loss, Bechem United dropped to the relegation zone with 3points after four games while Medeama Sporting Club climbed up to occupy the 10th position with four points.
