MATCH REPORT: Nations FC pip Kpando Heart of Lions in Abrankese – Betpawa Premier League.

Ghana Premier League newbies, Nations Football Club have recorded their third win of the season after defeating Kpando Heart of Lions Football Limited by a goal to nil at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.

After a 1-0 defeat in Sunyani last weekend, Razak Simpson’s lone goal moves Nations FC from the relegation zone.

Nations Football Club, the home side started the game the a highly attacking mindset, created numerous goal scoring chances but failed to connect them in the early stages of the game. Nafiu Sulemana had a glorious opportunity in the 24th minute of the game but his left footed strike went wide.

Six minutes after the missed chance, Emmanuel Agyemang dribble through the defense of Heart of Lions but his effort was calmly collected by Anane. Halftime ended goalless.

Back from recess, Nations Football Club continued putting pressure on Heart of Lions but couldn’t find their opener.

With fifteen minutes left to end the game, former West Africa Football Academy defender Razak Simpson latched on Amidu Diarra’s corner kick to break the virginity of the game.

In the dying embers of the game, Kpando Heart of Lion pressured Nations FC in search of their equalizer but the defense of Nations FC were resolute not to concede.

With the win, Nations Football Club climbs to the thirteenth position with eleven points while Kpando Heart of Lions sits on the bottom of the log.

Next for Nations Football Club is at the Duns Park in Bibiani against Goldstars while Heart of Lions host Bechem United at Hohoe.
