Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has announced the signing of the Berekum Chelsea defender, Henry Ansu ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Ansu has become the fifth signing of the porcupine warriors. The goal scoring defender signed a three-year deal that runs till 2026 for Asante Kotoko ahead of the new season.
Henry’s arrival bolsters the defensive capabilities and fills the position vacated by “OUTCAST” Mohammed Alhassan who not part of Coach Ogum’s plan for the season.
The 24-year-old versatile defender who doubles as a defensive midfielder featured in 18games for the Berekum based club where he picked up two MOTM award in the just ended league.
Asante Kotoko finished fourth in the just concluded Betpawa Premier League season and was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup by Aduana Stars.
The 24-year-old scored seven goals in all competitions for Berekum Chelsea last season.
Henry Ansu who previously played for Berekum Chelsea is already with the team in Beposo as they prepare ahead of the upcoming season which will be played later in September.
Asante Kotoko’s first match of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season will take place against league returnees Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
