Official: Tariq Lamptey, Abdul Fatawu Hamid, Thomas Partey named as Chris Hughton names Ghana squad for friendlies against USA and Mexico.

Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has named a strong 23-man squad ahead of two friendlies against the Mexican national team and The USA later this month.

After missing out on the late call-up against Central African Republic and Liberia, England-based Tariq Lamptey and Thomas Teye Partey made a return to the squad to replace Jonathan Sowah and Captain Andre Ayew.

On the other hand, Abdul Fatawu Hamid was the only local player who earned the call-up for the upcoming friendlies. The left-back plays for Ghanaian champions Medeama Sporting Club in the Betpawa Premier League.

Longest serving defender Daniel Amartey also made the squad.

The first friendly will be against Mexico at the Bank of America stadium on October 14  and will face the USA on October 17 at the GEODIS park in Nashville.
