Former Asante Kotoko Sporting Club defender, Habib Mohammed has completed a move to Adama City FC in the Ethiopian Premier League on a free transfer.
Habib Mohammed joined the side after contract expiry with Ethiopia Insurance FC as a free agent. The versatile defender signed a year contract with Adama City.
The former Black Meteors defender has been in the Ethiopian Premier League for a year with Ethiopia Insurance FC after leaving South African side, Sekhukhune in 2022 from Dreams FC (Ghana). Adama City FC considered signing the 26-year-old defender to bring on board his versatility, experience, and strength at the back for the team.
Habib Mohammed has gained more experience in the African football. He was part of the Ghana U23 squad for the AFCON U23 tournament in 2019. He also featured for Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko sporting club in the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.
Following the signing, Habib Mohammed will be the second Ghanaian to join the team after former Asante Kotoko sporting club goalkeeper, Kwame Baah who recently left the club after contract expiry.
Habib Mohammed previously played for Ashantigold Sporting Club, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and Dreams Football Club before moving to South Africa.
Habib Mohammed is already at Adama City FC camp and training with the team ahead of their subsequent matches.
