Ghanaian “starboy” Mohammed Kudus scored to inspire West United to a 3-1 home win over TSC Backa Topola in the UEFA Europa League group stage opener after coming from a goal down.
After a goalless at half-time, the Serbian outfit scored an early second-half goal through Petar Stanic in the 48th minute of the game after a defensive blinder from defender Ogobonna. In the 66th minute, Nemanja Petrovic scored an own goal after a pressure from Mohammed Kudus to get West Ham United’s equalizer.
Four minutes on, Mohammed Kudus headed home the second goal for West Ham United after latching on to a corner kick from James Ward Prowse.
76th-minute substitute Thomas Soucek sealed the deal for the London-based club six minutes after getting onto the field to make it 3-1 for the Hammers.
The win put West Ham United on top of the group with 3pionts with just a goal difference ahead of Freiburg who is also with three points in group A of the UEFA Europa League.
