Karela United Vs Asante Kotoko: Kotei, Ziggy, Lamptey, and others start as Coach Ogum names a strong starting XI against Karela United.

 Asante Kotoko Sporting Club will lock horns with Karela United Football Club later today at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale in round 16 of the MTN FA Cup.

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club eliminated two Ghana Premier League sides to reach the round 16, they were their regional rivals Nations Football Club and Bibiani Gold Stars Sporting Club. For Karela United Football Club, they eliminated Steadfast Football Club and Kasalgu Arrow Heads Football Club in rounds 64 and 32 respectively.

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s head coach Dr. Proper Narteh Ogum named the 20-man squad for the trip to the capital of the Northern Region, Tamale. Surprisingly, Isaac Oppong, Augustine Agyapong, and Captain Danlad Ibrahim were left out of the traveling squad. Andrew Ntim Manu, John Tedeku, and Kalo Ouattara were all not part of the traveling squad.

However, Henry Kwame Ansu, Dawuni Yahaya, Sheriff Mohammed (Midfielder), and Richmond Opoku were also excluded due to injury.

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has named a strong starting XI for the showdown in Tamale.

Cameroonian shot-stopper Moise Poauty will start in post for the Porcupine Warriors this afternoon at the Aliu Mahama Stadium as Frederick Asare drops to the bench.

In defense, Nurudeen Mohammed Yusif will partner with Sheriff Mohammed as center backs and will be supported by Emmanuel Nii Quaye Kotei and Enoch Morrison as laterals.

In the middle, Justice Blay will shield the defense of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club while deputy captain Richmond Lamptey and Baba Yahaya play alongside him in the midfield.

Young sensation Peter Acquah Amidu and Ugandan forward Steven Dese Mukwala will be on the flanks as Julis Ofori Ziggy leads the attack for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.
