OFFICIAL: Jonathan Sowah has completed a move to Libyan side Al Nasr Benghazi.

Al Nasr Benghazi has completed the signing of Medeama Sporting Club’s striker Jonathan Sowah on a permanent deal after fruitful negotiations between both clubs.

Jonathan Sowah has been pivotal to the club’s successes since joining the club ahead of the 2022/23 season. In his debut season, Jonathan Sowah scored an impressive nineteen goals in thirty-five outings for Medeama Sporting Club. The 25-year-old striker helped Medeama Sporting Club to win their first-ever Ghana Premier League title in his debut season.

His impressive performances earned him a debut call-up to the senior national team of Ghana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar and a friendly against Liberia.

In the ongoing season, Jonathan Sowah has scored seven goals in fifteen Ghana Premier League games. Jonathan Sowah made his competitive debut for the Black Stars of Ghana against Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier which Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat.

Also in the Total Energies CAF Champions League, Jonathan Sowah’s exceptional performance for Medeama Sporting Club attracted the attention of African Football giants Al Ahly of Egypt and other top African Clubs.

With all documents signed and medical examinations passed successfully, Jonathan Sowah is expected to join the team in Libya in the coming days.

Jonathan Sowah will join former Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s skipper Richard Boadu formerly of Medeama Sporting Club who is currently playing for Al Nasr Benghazi’s bitterest rival Al Ahly Benghazi.

The 25-year-old forward’s journey to the Libyan top flight adds a new chapter to his burgeoning career.
